CRONE TYE - "No Guts, No Glamour"

Flashback Review: CRONE TYE - "No Guts, No Glamour" (Single Review)

INDUSTRIAL ROCK DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO TAKE ITSELF SO SERIOUSLY TO SOUND HEAVY

Back in April 2025, Yorkshire duo Crone Tye, featuring Mik Crone on guitars and programming and vocalist Tye Jozefowicz, dropped their debut single, "No Guts, No Glamour." On paper, mixing cold 80s industrial rock with trashy glam punk sounds like a recipe for a mess. Looking back at it a year and a half later, though, the track actually pulls it off. The vibe is straight out of a cheap 80s horror movie set in a dark club. You get a heavy industrial beat, a filthy guitar riff, and vocals that switch between darkwave snarl and raw punk attitude. It doesn't try to overcomplicate things; the duo just locks into a solid, dirty groove and delivers a chorus that sticks in your head right away.

If I have one complaint, it's that the track feels a bit too controlled. Because it's clearly a studio creation built around programming, it lacks that chaotic, unhinged energy you would get from a full band cranking up the amps in a sweaty room. A little more dirt and spontaneous noise in the mix would have given it even more bite. Still, "No Guts, No Glamour" holds up really well. It's a fun, dark, and catchy crossover that proves industrial rock doesn't always have to take itself so seriously to sound heavy.

Pourtant, « No Guts, No Glamour » tient vraiment bien la route.
