DECARABION-Desacralization

Album Spotlight / Preview: DECARABION - "Desacralization"

COLOMBIAN BRUTAL DEATH METAL OUTFIT DELIVERS PURE, UNHINGED VIOLENCE

You practically need a master’s degree in apocalyptic theology just to read Decarabion’s tracklist out loud. With song titles like "Procedures To Metaphysical Annihilation" and "Divine Cleanse Of Every Trace Of Humanity On Earth," the Bogotá quartet certainly aren't holding back on the dramatic flair. But underneath the mouthful of words, their second full‑length Desacralization, dropping December 11th on Comatose Music, is pure, unhinged Colombian brutal death metal. Colombia's extreme underground has never been known for its delicate acoustic ballads, and Decarabion sit squarely in that ruthless lineage. After spending some quality time with an advance copy of the album, the violence is immediate. From the opening seconds of "Aborted Pact Between Heaven And Men," Dennis Tovar’s blast beats hit with the subtlety of a cement mixer, while Daniel Lara’s guitar work slices through at light speed.

What keeps this from turning into a useless wall of brown noise is Sasha Borovykh’s mix (Tsun Tsun Productions). Borovykh gives Eduardo Camargo’s bass actual room to breathe and rumble beneath the guitar assault. Tracks like "Path To Acceleration Of Global Entropy" don't just speed blindly ahead; they lock into tight, vicious grooves that give the chaos some actual shape. Closing out the record with a cover of Purulent’s "My Quartered Stepmother" is a great touch, tipping a hat to the old‑school local scene that paved the way for this kind of noise. Let's be clear: Desacralization offers zero breathing room, zero ambient interludes, and zero melodic compromise. If forty minutes of non‑stop blast beats and chest‑excavating gutturals sound exhausting to you, this record won't change your mind. But if you want your brutal death precise, ugly, and unapologetically heavy, Decarabion deliver the goods without batting an eye.
