Single & Album Spotlight: FUTURE SHOCK - "Hand of Fate"
INTERNATIONAL MELODIC HARD ROCK OUTFIT RETURNS WITH A VOCAL‑DRIVEN TITLE TRACK FOR THEIR 2027 ALBUM
Originally formed in 2011, international melodic hard rock outfit Future Shock (or Future Shock UK) have released "Hand of Fate," the title track and lead single from their upcoming second studio album, slated for 2027. Musically, the single is built around a mid‑tempo hard rock structure that prioritizes vocal melodies over sheer volume. A driving rhythm guitar riff sets the pace, leading into an accessible refrain carried by Luca Ravasio’s clear, high‑register vocals. Rather than rushing the arrangement, the band leaves plenty of space for Andy Basiola’s guitar work, which resolves in a fluid, '80s‑inspired six‑string solo. Lyrically, the song deals with personal accountability and refusing to hide behind institutional dogmas.

The track began taking shape in London nearly a decade ago, but was shelved during the COVID‑19 pandemic before being completed this past winter. Recording was split internationally: drums were tracked at Bavini Studio in São Paulo, Brazil, while guitars and vocals were recorded at Eastcote Studio in London. The band and Phil Kinman handled production and engineering, with Kinman taking care of the final mix and mastering. With the album due in 2027, "Hand of Fate" marks the band's return to the melodic hard rock sound that first brought the project together.
