Single Spotlight / Review: UNÉN - "Love Story"

FINNISH MODERN MELODIC METAL BAND RETURNS WITH A DARKER, MORE ATMOSPHERIC FOLLOW‑UP TO "DANCING IN FLAMES"

Finnish modern melodic metal band Unén return with “Love Story,” a darker, more atmospheric follow‑up to their earlier single “Dancing In Flames.” The track offers another glimpse of the band’s upcoming studio album.

"Love Story" (Official Music Video)

While “Dancing In Flames” leaned on a heavier, more direct rock sound, “Love Story” takes a slower, more atmospheric approach. Frontwoman Stina Girs, who joined the band in 2023 after appearing on Finland’s Idols, describes it as a vampire romance built around past‑life connections and eternal patience. The lighter instrumentation gives her vocals more room to breathe, with subtle keyboard parts adding to the song’s darker mood.

Produced and mixed by guitarist Kimmo Pitkänen and mastered by Miro Kiiski at Miro Mastering, the single comes with a narrative music video directed by Elsa Wellamo, bringing its gothic‑romance theme to the screen as the band prepares for upcoming live dates.
