The pandemic of 2020 was a catalyst for Michael Alan to pursue his passion of writing and releasing solo material. His debut album, called Calling, was the result of the inspiration he felt during this isolating time. The album is a reflection of Michael's wide range of influences, from blues to heavy metal to progressive rock. With over 35 years of experience as a lead guitarist, Michael brings a mature approach to both songwriting and playing. He worked with friend and co-producer Dave Johnson of Spellsound Studios over a 2-year period to bring his vision to life. The album features guest appearances from Michael's live band members and a classically trained violinist, providing the finishing touches to tracks. Through instrumental music, Michael hopes to speak a "universal language" and express emotions that words cannot convey.
