Bio:
Juliet Ruin emerged from the ashes of a previous project called Fiction of Fate with the aim of combining technical vocal stylings with a beastly metal sound that still retained its beauty. With Jess Ruin on lead vocals, Kent Geislinger and Wesley Rands on guitar, Cody Reid on bass, and Jesse Bauman on drums, Juliet Ruin creates an original sound with catchy hooks that convey a fresh and emotive feel to their heavy music.

After making their debut with a self-titled EP in 2017, Juliet Ruin quickly gained a following in the local scene, captivating audiences with high-energy performances that showcased emotion, vulnerability, and power. Their first full-length album "Old Stardust, Love and Chaos" came out in 2019, which saw the band dabbling in low-tuned 7-string guitars and incorporating more technical and heavy instrumentation, along with an increase in the volume of screams and clean vocal techniques.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Juliet Ruin persevered and released their EP "Dark Water" in 2021, and now they're back with their first single of 2023 called "Give Me The Crown". The band promises their fans many more releases this year leading up to their new record set to come out later in the year.

"If you are a fan of the likes of JINJER, INFECTED RAIN, THE AGONIST and BUTCHER BABIES then the “Dark Water" E.P is one for you to check out. The E.P opens with the title track “Dark Water" as a ferocious riff creeps in as the rhythm section sounds away. From then the band are now in full swing as the very haunting sounding vocals coming in. The song leads to a sing along chorus with a cool lead line afterwards. When the breakdown hits the vocals add a sort of dreamy feel to it until the guitar solo sections kick in. Great way to start things off." 8/10 - Metal Temple
"“Dark Water" by JULIET RUIN is a great listen and one I really enjoyed. From listening the vocals have a lot of range as Jess goes from hauntingly clean to aggressive death growls. The band has a very modern sound that is filled with great riffing and killer grooves. The songs here are great and you can hear their influences at times too. This is a band that, from listening to this, sounds like they need to be experienced in a live setting and I would love to hear more from them in the future." - Metal Temple
"As mentioned, Juliet Ruin is not a stranger to attention and praise and can expect a lot more with Dark Water. It is their most striking offering yet and with the new evolution in the band’s already potent sound, surely the first step to greater things." - The RingMaster Review
"Bang your heads to the new EP by this amazing Canadian Modern Metal crew, reflecting a turn to darker sounds and grittier vocals while still preserving the spirit of what makes the band who they are." - The Headbanging Moose
"Bloody love it! One of the best EPs I’ve heard this year so far. " - Ever Metal
