Phoenix Rising: A Rising Metal Band from Spain
Spanish metal band Phoenix Rising has been making waves in the metal scene since their formation in 2007. Initially known as “Quinta Enmienda”, the band released their debut album “Ne Bis In Idem” in 2010, which marked the beginning of their journey to becoming one of the most promising metal bands from Spain.

With intensive touring over the next couple of years, Phoenix Rising gained a reputation both from the public and the media. Their performance in front of 5000 metalheads at the Sonisphere festival caught the attention of German label “Sonic Attack”, which eventually led to the band changing their name to “Phoenix Rising” and signing with the label Wormholedeath.

Their second album, “MMXII”, recorded in both English and Spanish language, was distributed worldwide by “SPV” as a double CD and received fantastic reviews from critics comparing them with world-class bands such as “Rhapsody” or “Sonata Arctica”. As a result, the band signed another deal with Japanese label Hydrant Music to release an exclusive version of the album containing several bonus tracks in Japan.

In late 2013, Phoenix Rising entered the studio to record their third album, “Versus”. The album was self-published in 2014, and while musically speaking, the band kept the same formula acclaimed by the fans and media, lyrically speaking, they focused more on the life-struggle and life-death duality. The tour that followed “Versus” took the band to many new places, not only within Spain but also to different cities in France and Belgium during the summer of 2016.

After the tour, the band decided to take a break from touring to focus on writing their upcoming album, “Acta Est Fabula”. The band aimed to make this album their most ambitious project yet, combining epic orchestrations and choral sections with Phoenix Rising’s trademark epic vocals and shredding guitars. The album was recorded at New Life Studios between 2018 and 2020 and was funded through a Verkami campaign.

“Acta Est Fabula” was officially launched on March 26th, 2021, and has received positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The album showcases the band's growth and maturity, and their ability to create a unique sound that combines elements of power metal and symphonic metal. The album is an epic journey that takes the listener through different emotions and experiences.

Phoenix Rising has come a long way since their formation in 2007. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for metal have paid off, and they have established themselves as one of the most promising metal bands from Spain. With “Acta Est Fabula”, Phoenix Rising has set the bar high for themselves, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.
