Mortyfear - Circus Called Life

Remember When Mortyfear Unleashed Chaos: New Music Video and Second Album Drop!

It's time to rewind the clock and relive the glorious release of Mortyfear's second studio album, "My Dystopia". Hailing from Seinäjoki, Finland, this formidable metal band captivated fans in 2021 with their crushing sound. Recorded and mixed by Riku Metsä-Ketelä at Finnvox Studios/Rmksound, and mastered by the renowned Svante Forsbäck (known for his work with Rammstein, Amorphis, Apocalyptica, and more) at Chartmakers, "My Dystopia" is a testament to Mortyfear's raw talent and uncompromising vision.

To commemorate the album's release, Mortyfear also unveiled a brand-new music video for their track, "Circus Called Life". This visually stunning and emotionally charged video adds another layer of intensity to the band's powerful sound.

Vocalist Janne Keskitalo reflects on the journey leading up to the album's release: "We are thrilled that the day is finally here. We've been eagerly awaiting the reviews, and now the music can be heard by everyone".

The songs on "My Dystopia" were meticulously crafted through a collaborative process that Mortyfear refers to as "the blender". Each band member had the freedom to compose and experiment, throwing their musical creations into the mix. After extensive discussions and further blending, the result is an album that pushes boundaries, embracing insanity and darkness while maintaining a cohesive essence. Mortyfear's sound has evolved, but the band's legacy of dark vibes remains intact.

Keskitalo explains the concept behind "Circus Called Life": "The song explores the people whose only connection to the world is through social media, where popularity is the ultimate goal, regardless of the price. And those who reject it are considered freaks. We wanted to capture the dissonance and hatred toward every aspect of life, so we recorded it in one take, allowing the total insanity of the moment to shine through. We all deeply connected to this song, which inspired us to forge a sound that defies familiarity, something never before heard. We took it for a wild ride in the blender, adding layers and ideas until we achieved the perfect balance of insanity and horror".

Although we're revisiting this monumental release from 2021, the impact of "My Dystopia" is still reverberating through the metal community. The album represents Mortyfear's unique blend of oppressive heaviness, hooky melodies, and eerie cinematic atmospheres that infiltrate your darkest nightmares.
