Aleister: Unleashing Thrash Metal Mayhem Once Again!

Hold on tight, metalheads, because Aleister is back with a vengeance! Formed in 1987, this powerhouse thrash metal band from France is ready to tear through the metal scene once more, armed with their ferocious sound and unrelenting energy.

In the early days, Aleister wasted no time, hitting the stage and recording their first demo tape, "Annihilation," in 1988. The following year, their release of the demo "Schizophrenia" caught the attention of Jungle Hop Records, earning them a coveted spot on the "Total Virulence" compilation, alongside other French metal leaders. Their track, also titled "Schizophrenia," showcased their unique sound and set the stage for their rise to metal greatness.

The band experienced a lineup change when Laurent departed, making way for the talented Didier Renaud on bass. With this new formation, Aleister embarked on a relentless series of live performances, sharing the stage with renowned acts such as Loudblast, Massacra, and Mercyless. They quickly gained a reputation for their Bay Area-inspired thrash, captivating audiences with their electrifying presence.

In 1992, Aleister signed with German label Krypta Record and journeyed to Hamburg to record their debut album, "Tribal Tech." This masterpiece of techno-infused thrash metal captured the essence of the band during that period. Following the recording, Aleister parted ways with guitarist Philippe Daval, continuing their journey as a powerful trio.

The band's live performances continued to impress, as they shared stages with Treponem Pal, Pro-Pain, Paradise Lost, and Merauder. Their influence and reputation grew, culminating in a groundbreaking performance at the Eurockéennes de Belfort festival in 1995, where they became the first thrash metal band to conquer that stage.

In 1996, Aleister entered the studio to work on their highly anticipated second album. However, fate had other plans, and the album remained unreleased as the band decided to go their separate ways in 1997, exploring new musical endeavors.

But the story doesn't end there. In 2018, the publication "Enjoy the Violence" shed light on the origins of the French thrash/death metal scene, reigniting Aleister's fire. The band reunited for a special event, expressing their gratitude to the authors and reigniting their passion for the music they created 25 years ago.

In 2019, Aleister returned to the studio to record their long-awaited second album, "No Way Out." With the same studio and engineer from their previous recordings, they tapped into their roots and delivered seven raw and savage tracks that embody the spirit of old-school thrash metal. The album quickly caught the attention of M&O Music, who signed Aleister for distribution.

2021 marked a turning point for Aleister as they embarked on new creative paths, welcoming a fourth member, Valentin Maugain, to strengthen their sonic assault with a second guitar. This revitalized lineup infused fresh energy and set a new musical direction as they prepared for their third album.
Prepare to enter the nightmare realm as Aleister redraws the boundaries of their universe with their latest album, aptly titled "Nightmare." This release sees the band reaching new heights in the realm of thrash metal, taking their sound to a whole new dimension.
