Hifiklub's KO Computer: An Album That’ll Blow Your Mind

The French experimental rock band Hifiklub is about to drop a bombshell with their latest album, KO Computer. And guess who's behind the mixing board? None other than the legendary Steve Albini—yep, the same guy who’s worked with Nirvana and Pixies. This bad boy was recorded in analog (talk about old school!) at Electrical Audio in Chicago, meaning we're in for some gritty, unfiltered goodness. You can almost hear the tape reels spinning!

Now, Hifiklub isn’t your average rock band. Nope, they’ve been around the block, pushing boundaries like a stubborn mule. They've worked with over 200 musicians, from rock to jazz to electronic. You name it, they've done it. This crew is all about mixing the mainstream with the underground—kind of like blending peanut butter and jelly with, I don’t know, caviar? It’s weird but somehow it works.

KO Computer—don’t let the title fool you into thinking it’s some high-tech digital thing. This album’s 100% analog. Like, we’re talking the kind of raw, genuine sound you can only get when you ditch the digital tricks and let the instruments do the talking. You can practically smell the warmth of the tape. And the guest list? Oh boy, it’s stacked. There’s Donna Diane (from Djunah, because, why not?), Brianna Tong (yep, she’s been busy with Cordoba, Je’raf, and Bussy Kween Power Trip), and Eric Novak (Dissonant Dessert, Cordoba). These three bring their own unique flavors, adding layers to Hifiklub’s already dense, evolving soundscape. It's like a musical lasagna—rich, spicy, and full of surprises.

Mark Your Calendars: November 15th!
November 15th is when the magic officially happens. That’s right, the album drops via Org Music, and you can already preorder it on their website. Seriously, if you’re into vinyl, this is the one you’ll want spinning on your turntable. Who knows, it might just become the soundtrack to your existential crisis—or your next road trip, depending on how you vibe with it.

But wait! If you’re the kind who likes a sneak peek, you’re in luck. The lead single, Sinking Boats, featuring Donna Diane, is already out. So, what are you waiting for? It's streaming on all platforms. Plug in your headphones, crank up the volume, and let those heavy riffs wash over you. It’s the kind of track that makes you feel like you're sinking in quicksand, but in a good way, you know?

If you're still on the fence about KO Computer, let me ask you this: when’s the last time an album made you stop and go, “What the heck did I just listen to?” Hifiklub doesn’t play it safe, and that's what makes them stand out. This album might not be everyone's cup of tea, but hey, the best things rarely are. So, strap in, crank it up, and let KO Computer take you for a wild ride.
