Born and raised in the vibrant heart of Paris, France, Chloe Trujillo dived headfirst into the arts and music scene from a tender age.
Her musical style? A delightful hodgepodge that blends everything from rap, metal, and gypsy vibes to blues. You could say she’s like a musical chameleon, adapting to whatever the genre throws at her.
Chloe first snagged her Visa while performing in the eclectic cabarets and theatrical shows of NYC. Can you imagine the thrill? A little while later, Gail Zappa tapped her to record Frank Zappa’s iconic track, “The Torture Never Stops.” And oh, did we mention she’s married to Robert Trujillo from Metallica? Yeah, talk about rock royalty!
Now let’s shift gears to Mark, the Kiwi dynamo, who relocated from New Zealand to Australia and formed the rock band Bellusira. This group rolled out two standout albums and even made a splash in America, all while being managed by Will Hunt from Evanescence. They hit the road a few times and had Koichi Fukuda from Static-X shred the guitar for them. Once that chapter wrapped up, Mark decided to stick around the States and keep chasing his musical dreams—can’t blame him!
So, fast forward to early 2021. Chloe and Mark crossed paths at the Global Green Charity Event at the iconic Troubadour in LA. After hitting it off online, they realized they had a mutual admiration for each other’s artistry. It wasn’t long before they decided to collaborate on a track! The result? “Lightning Strikes Twice”—and wow, did it leave a mark! The response was overwhelmingly positive, and they had a blast working together.
By 2022, these two powerhouses put out their debut EP, HEAVY PEACE, which garnered them even more buzz in the industry. Not ones to sit back, they jumped right back into the studio to work on their next record, bringing in Ray Luzier from Korn to lay down some killer drum tracks. In a thrilling twist, they assembled a live band, which kicked off early 2024 with local guitar whiz Kevin Hicklin and none other than Chloe’s daughter, Lullah Trujillo, pounding the drums!
Now, let’s talk about their latest single, “The Weight of Gold Teeth.” Right from the get-go, that opening riff slaps you in the face with energy. Ray Luzier? He’s in his zone here, driving the song forward with those infectious grooves. The band artfully weaves in some industrial elements while keeping those catchy hooks intact. And don’t even get me started on the chorus—epic vocal work that’ll give you goosebumps, topped off with some heavy guitar wizardry to boot.
