What's New: Mad Parish
Montreal's MAD PARISH Unleashes Album Teaser for Epic Progressive NWOTHM Concept Album “The Dust Of Forever” + Comic Book Set for January 2025
Hey there, metalheads! Brace yourselves, because Montreal’s heavy metal titans, Mad Parish, have just announced the impending release of their highly anticipated concept album, “The Dust Of Forever,” dropping in January 2025! Can you feel the excitement? This ambitious endeavor is like the cherry on top of a decade-long journey for the band. Seriously, it’s not just an album; it's an epic, multi-layered experience that redefines heavy metal storytelling.
Get this: "The Dust Of Forever" features 21 tracks, each woven into a captivating narrative about Joe, an immortal dude caught in some universe-shattering cataclysm. Talk about high stakes! Here’s a little backstory straight from the band:
“The album has some pretty interesting origins. It all started with a tune from our first album, Procession, inspired by a comic book. Bob Eaglesham, our guitarist, joined the fray and wondered what would happen if a priest from that comic found out he was immortal. Boom! That’s how the song "The Dust Of Forever" was born. As we wrote more songs, the idea of crafting this whole universe and turning it into a concept album just hit us".
Going all-in on epic prog and NWOTHM metal was no walk in the park for Mad Parish. They were determined to spin a tale through their music, so they even crafted a companion comic book titled "The Experience Hunter Chronicles" to enhance the album. It’s their boldest venture yet!
From the haunting opener “Prophecy” to the rip-roaring “Hail To The Hunter”, listeners are in for an immersive ride through a meticulously crafted world. The story-driven record showcases the band’s evolution, blending NWOBHM roots with elements of well-loved genres—think progressive rock, the swagger of the ’70s, the vibe of ’80s new wave, and even some classical and jazz influences! The result? A sound that’s distinctly Mad Parish: heavy, melodic, and atmospherically rich. For fans of Iron Maiden, Rush, Ozzy Osbourne, and Rainbow, this is a no-brainer!
Set your calendars, folks—“The Dust Of Forever” drops on January 31, 2025, and will be available digitally, as well as in CD and Vinyl formats, along with a limited-edition comic book via their Bandcamp at Mad Parish Bandcamp.
