Beer Cannon: The Raucous Revival of Thrash Metal
Enter Beer Cannon, a fierce thrash metal band that’s been taking the metal scene by storm since their inception in the gritty heart of West Yorkshire, UK. These guys kicked things off back in early 2023, thanks to the dynamic duo of guitarists Artur Skrzypczak and Krystian Zamojski, who wasted no time crafting a whirlwind of sonic chaos. Almost like clockwork, William Paxman jumped on bass, followed closely by the beast known as drummer Scott Bakes.
With a burning passion for their craft—seriously, these guys literally breathe music—Beer Cannon was on the hunt for a vocalist to embody their visceral vision. The search turned out to be trickier than finding a needle in a haystack. So, who stepped up to the mic? None other than Artur himself! Yes, the man swapped strings for vocals, proving that when the going gets tough, the tough get singing!
Fast forward to late 2023, and bam! Krystian had to bow out for personal reasons, which, let’s be honest, was a bummer. But this setback turned into a launchpad for a new era in Beer Cannon's saga. With William Paxman shifting from bass to lead guitar, the band introduced fresh momentum that would make anyone’s head bang.
By the time April rolled around in 2024, Beer Cannon didn't just rest on their laurels; they charged into the studio like a bull in a china shop! Their much-anticipated debut EP, “The Last of Hops”, officially dropped on April 20th, and let me tell you, it didn’t just meet expectations—it blew them out of the water! This EP is more than just music; it’s a testament to their unyielding dedication and their ‘no guts, no glory’ mentality.
Described as an explosive cocktail of old-school thrash mixed with a splash of death metal, Beer Cannon coined their genre “Beer Metal Attack”. Some cheeky fans have even dubbed it “Party Death Thrash”—a title you can really sink your teeth into! Drawing inspiration from thrash giants like Municipal Waste and Slayer, alongside death metal legends such as Sepultura and Asphyx, Beer Cannon serves up a sonic blitzkrieg that leaves crowds ravenous for more.
