CORPORAL PUNISHMENT: Toulouse’s Death Metal Savages Are Coming for Your Neck

France’s Most Brutal Export Since Baguettes (But Way Louder)

Ever wondered what happens when you cross the technical fury of Death, the suffocating chaos of Suffocation, and the unhinged darkness of Morbid Angel? Meet CORPORAL PUNISHMENT—Toulouse’s answer to the question “How loud can a human scream before their vocal cords turn to dust?” Formed in 2019, these French extremists have been sharpening their sonic guillotine, and on March 7, 2025, they’re dropping their debut album Inverted Demise via M&O Music. Consider this your final warning: your eardrums won’t know what hit ’em.

These guys aren’t here to play nice. Their 2023 self-released EP The New Plague was a gnarly, no-frills assault that felt like getting dropkicked by a yeti. But Inverted Demise? Recorded at Silent Ruins Studio in mid-2024, this thing is a monster. Imagine Human-era Death colliding with Covenant-level Morbid Angel, while Suffocation’s Pierced from Within blares in the background. It’s a love letter to ’90s death metal—written in blood, of course.

If your playlist bleeds classic death metal, this is your new obsession. These Toulouse madmen worship at the altar of Chuck Schuldiner and Trey Azagthoth but add a distinctly French flair.
Their 2022 The New Plague sessions at Rimshot Studio were raw, primal, and louder than a Parisian taxi horn. The new album? They’ve leveled up—think tighter riffs, filthier grooves, and vocals that sound like a demon gargling barbed wire.

Catch them March 15, 2025, at Salle René Cassin in St. Sulpice. Spoiler: It’ll be less a “concert” and more a riot. Bring earplugs—and maybe a will.

The New Plague (2023) was just the warm-up. Inverted Demise is the main event—a 10-track descent into audio violence that’ll leave you questioning your life choices. And hey, if you survive, there’s a merch table. Probably.

Look, I’ve heard my fair share of “brutal” bands. Most are about as threatening as a soggy croissant. But CORPORAL PUNISHMENT? They’re the real dégueulasse. This isn’t just death metal—it’s a statement. A middle finger to mediocrity, wrapped in blast beats and tuned to Drop Z.

Will Inverted Demise convert your grandma to death metal? Unlikely. But for the rest of us? It’s a goddamn masterpiece. Mark March 7 on your calendar. Cancel your yoga class. And when your neighbors complain about the noise? Blame France.
