CHÜZO’s Ontario Rampage: Aggro-Metal Fury & Cathartic Chaos

Montreal’s aggro-metal mad scientists CHÜZO aren’t here to whisper sweet nothings—they’re here to crack skulls. Fresh off their "M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay" EP—a three-track grenade produced by Slaves On Dope’s Kevin Jardine—the quartet is storming Ontario this weekend. Oshawa, Toronto, Hamilton: consider yourselves warned.

Need proof? Cue their new lyric video for “Bruised and Broken,” a sonic gut-punch about snapping under pressure. Spoiler: It’s loud. Drummer Carlos Gutierrez spliced footage of their recent Wacken Metal Battle Canada showdown—a sweat-drenched, non-victorious but “passionate as hell” gig. “We threw our hearts on that stage,” they grin. “Next year? We’re coming back meaner.”

This band’s origin sounds like a punchline: “A Brazilian vocalist, a Chilean guitarist, a Russian bassist, and a Venezuelan drummer walk into a Montreal bar…” Joke’s on you—their “Aggro-Metal” blender of grindcore, thrash, and Swedish death is deadly serious. Frontwoman Mischa M snarls trauma into triumph, while guitarist Cristian S admits the EP’s all about revenge: “It’s our audio shotgun blast. Mosh or get out.”

TOUR DATES
March 15 - Duffy’s Tavern (Toronto)
March 16 - Doors Pub (Hamilton)

Critics are already sweating. Decibel Magazine nods to Sepultura’s glory days, while No Clean Singing calls “Bruised and Broken” a “rage-fueled catharsis” with “bowel-loosening bass-quakes.” Holy feedback!
CHÜZO doesn’t just play music—they weaponize it. Their EP isn’t a plea for attention; it’s a Molotov cocktail tossed at complacency. If you’re not in the pit by March 16, you’re part of the problem.
