Emergency Rule - The Hook - LIVE in Japan 2024

What's New: Emergency Rule

Rule the Stage Down Under: Emergency Rule's Explosive Japan Clip Drops!

Let’s be honest: most live clips are glorified souvenirs: Shaky cams, muffled sound, and about as much energy as a Monday morning. But this? This is something else.

Emergency Rule just dropped their live video for “The Hook”, and it hits like the first row of a sold-out club: loud, sweaty, chaotic, in all the right ways. Captured last November at Blueport in Kobe, the clip is the best kind of tour memento: sharp, raw, and absolutely electrifying.

Directed by their longtime visual partner Jason McNamara, the video doesn’t try to polish the chaos, it embraces it. You can almost feel the floorboards vibrating. It’s not just a performance; it’s a moment. One of those rare times where a band and a crowd collide and make something unforgettable.

This Kobe gig was just one stop on their first-ever Japanese tour, which saw the band tear through Tokyo, Kyoto, and beyond. Six shows in total. That’s enough to break a band or forge one. And judging by this footage? Emergency Rule didn’t just survive; they thrived.

Next up, they’re back on home turf and not exactly easing back in. On June 21st, they’ll open for Aussie legends Electric Mary (farewell tour, bring tissues) at The Gov in Adelaide. After that? A national run with Stoned Jesus (finally hitting Aussie soil) across Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

And let’s not forget the album that started the blaze: The King of Ithaca. It’s still doing damage months after release. Don’t take my word for it: Metal Hammer Spain called it “flawless”. That’s a big word, but honestly? Fair. The band doesn’t stick to one lane, either. There’s sludge, swagger, and stoner-metal grit all mashed into something that feels totally theirs.

Watch “The Hook”.
Then go see them live! Because if the screen feels this intense, imagine the front row.
