Arched Fire - "Demolition"

What's New: Arched Fire

Arched Fire Demolish the System, And Your Eardrums, Too

July 22nd, 2025. That’s when Finnish speed metal legends Arched Fire drop their new single Demolition: a fast, furious, and surprisingly thoughtful blast of late-’80s thrash with a punky twist.

The riff? Think Overkill meets Dead Boys, all wrapped in a tight, melodic package. The lyrics? They hit harder than you’d expect from a speed metal band. Kristian Herkman, the man behind the mic, explains it’s about urban poverty, segregation, and how cities use architecture to push people out. “Removing the slum doesn’t remove the problem,” he says. “It just moves it.”

And if that wasn’t enough, Ari Väntänen (rhythm guitar) cheekily reused a riff from an old Arched Fire song called Downtown City. “I didn’t know why I did it at first,” he laughs. “But hey, if the shoe fits…”
The track was laid down by a guest-heavy line-up: Fabio Alessandrini on drums (yes, that Fabio), and Greek guitarist Seva handling the leads. It’s got that raw, live-in-the-studio energy that makes your skin crawl in the best way.

So, is this a song or a manifesto? Probably both. Either way, Arched Fire are still here, still loud, and still telling the truth, whether you like it or not.
