Thirteen Goats Summon the Apocalypse in “Animal Kingdom” and You’re Invited

Vancouver’s most unhinged metal circus, Thirteen Goats, have just unleashed a new music video that’s equal parts ritualistic horror and high-concept madness. Titled “Animal Kingdom”, it’s not only the closing track of their 2024 album Capricorn Rising (Exitus Stratagem Records), but also a bold statement that this band isn’t afraid to go full bonkers.

Starting with eerie arpeggios and a creeping sense of dread, the song slowly pulls you into its world. When the clean singing does arrive, it’s a haunting call from guest Carly Ellen Jones, marking the beginning of a dark dialogue with frontman Graham K. Miles. From there, the track erupts into a full-blown sonic beast: cascading riffs, guttural roars, and a final riff so sharp it could cut through your soul. The video? A Lynchian nightmare where the band summons a demon (Jones again) who turns them into her puppets. Classic cautionary tale: be careful what you wish for, especially if you’re into goat-possessed Antichrists.

Directed by frontman Graham K. Miles, the clip channels David Lynch’s surrealism while staying rooted in real-world dread: radicalization, extremism, the seductive pull of chaos. It’s a visual feast wrapped in a warning, and honestly? We love it.

With a festival blitz coming up at Loud As Hell Open Air, MOSH THE ROCK, and Party in the Park, Thirteen Goats are hitting the road like they’ve got a goat on their back and a mission to destroy everything. If you haven’t heard Capricorn Rising yet, now’s the time. This is no ordinary metal album: it’s a nine-track story about Shepherd, a goat-skull-wearing Antichrist waging war on human greed and stupidity. Think Mastodon meets Cannibal Corpse, with a dash of Lamb of God fury and a healthy side of blackened theatrics.

They don’t play it safe. They don’t stick to one genre. They just make loud, angry, beautiful noise. And we’re here for it.

Festival Dates:
Aug 10 – MOSH THE ROCK
Sept 13 – Party in the Park
