So, you’ve seen the title: In Silence They Scream. Sounds like a philosophy thesis. But in Distartica’s world? It’s a battle cry, and it works better than most.

Formed in 2008 by brothers Alex and Carlos Vasquez in Houston, this band has never done subtle. Their 2017 debut, In Flames We Rise, already burned with raw, riff-driven thrash infused with conscience, think early Sepultura meeting the existential dread of late-night headlines. Their new album, In Silence They Scream, isn’t just a follow-up. It’s an evolution. The riffs hit tighter, the rhythms twist chaotically, and the lyrics wrestle with mortality, systemic decay, and the kind of news that chills your blood.

Carlos, blind since birth, doesn’t just keep the beat; he leads the storm. His drumming and vocals are equal parts fury and vulnerability, carrying the weight of every song. Alex’s guitars cut like scalpels, while Alexander Dodd’s bass groans like tectonic plates shifting. The band’s sound walks a line between old-school aggression and modern urgency: thrash with a therapist’s notebook tucked in the back pocket.

Distartica isn’t about shouting “chaos” for the sake of it. They mean it. Power comes from depth here, and sometimes the loudest thing you can say… is silence.

In Silence They Scream is proof that thrash can still have soul, brains, and heart. It’s relentless, thought-provoking, and unafraid to show scars.
