"Christus Venari" - When Chilean Black/Death Metal Strikes Back

Valparaíso's finest are back, and they're not here to play nice.

Infernal Thorns return with Christus Venari, their third full-length, dropping September 12 via Personal Records. No half-measures here: nine tracks of blasphemous fury, razor-sharp hooks, and that unmistakable Chilean edge, where black metal's frost meets death metal's sledgehammer. Recorded at AudioCustom Estudio and masterminded by Seba Puente (who also handled production), this is the sound of a band who've spent years in the underground sharpening their blades.

From the opening snarl of Death Chants to the synth-laced malevolence of Illuminated by the Flames (courtesy of Nicolás Arce's eerie work at AST Estudios), Christus Venari doesn't just lurk, it lunges. The riffs? Brutal, but never brainless. The atmosphere? Dense enough to choke on. Think Deicide's precision meets Behemoth's theatricality, with a whiff of Grave's old-school rot.

Tracklist highlights: Desde el Infierno (a mid-album maelstrom), Profane the Mass (pure sacrilegious groove), and the closing Illuminated by the Flames, finally drag you into the abyss.

This isn't reinventing the wheel, but who cares when the wheel's on fire? Infernal Thorns know their craft, and Christus Venari proves they're still hungry. No filler, no mercy.

CONCLUSION:
Infernal Thorns' Christus Venari is a brutal reminder of why Chilean extreme metal remains a force to be reckoned with. Combining black metal's atmospheric darkness with death metal's crushing riffs, this album delivers nine tracks of unrelenting fury. No gimmicks, no compromises, just pure, blasphemous metal crafted by veterans who know exactly how to balance brutality with musicality.
