Hailing from Kelowna, BC, Naitaka is that rare breed of band that takes thrash metal, throws in a healthy dose of power metal and melodeath, and somehow makes it sound fresh instead of forced. Fronted by Cara McCutchen (ex-Mortillery, Minax), whose voice cuts through the mix like a chainsaw through butter, they’ve been carving their name into the Okanagan Valley’s metal scene since 2019. With Troy Melnyk (Worship or Sin, Sacrilege) shredding on guitar, Tyler Dake pounding the drums, John Shippit holding down the bass (after a brief hiatus because, y’know, life), and Liam Mackenzie and Tanner Benedict rounding out the axe attack, this lineup is built for chaos.

Originaire de Kelowna, en Colombie-Britannique, Naitaka est ce genre rare de groupe qui s'empare du thrash, y injecte une dose massive de power metal et de mélodeth, et réussit à en faire un son frais au lieu d'une formule forcée. Mené par Cara McCutchen (ancienne de Mortillery, Minax), dont la voix transperce le mix comme une tronçonneuse dans du beurre, le groupe taille son nom dans la scène métal de la vallée de l'Okanagan depuis 2019. Avec Troy Melnyk (Worship or Sin, Sacrilege) qui massacre la gratte, Tyler Dake aux fûts, John Shippit au grave (après une brève pause, parce que la vie quoi), et Liam Mackenzie et Tanner Benedict qui complètent l'attaque axiale, cette formation est taillée pour le chaos.

Their self-titled EP (2021) was just the warm-up. "Emergence" (2023) is where they unleash: riffs that slash, solos that soar, and hooks that stick in your skull like a bad decision. It’s the kind of metal that doesn’t just play, it demands you pay attention. No frills, no bullshit, just pure, unfiltered aggression with enough melody to keep you coming back.

Leur EP éponyme (2021) n'était qu'un échauffement. 'Emergence' (2023), c'est le moment où ils lâchent tout : riffs tranchants, solos planants, et refrains qui s'incrudent dans votre caboche comme une connerie faite exprès. C’est le genre de métal qui ne se contente pas de jouer, il exige votre attention. Pas de fioritures, pas de conneries, juste une agression pure, brute, filtrée par une mélodie suffisante pour vous ramener à la charge.
