Nearly ten years. That's how long Paintrail, the shadowy duo of Luca Delle Fave (Seventh Dimension) and Hadid Rehman, sat on these songs. Written in 2016, forgotten, then finally dragged into the light. And thank fuck for that, because Nocturnals, out now via Corrupted Records, isn't just music. It's a goddamn seance.

This isn't your typical instrumental fluff. No, Nocturnals is a semi-acoustic horror story with groove, a twisted lovechild of Opeth's weirdest moments, Steven Wilson's atmospheric creep, and Storm Corrosion's eerie beauty. Acoustic guitars weave through driving drums and deep, rumbling bass, while keys drizzle this unsettling, almost hypnotic dread over everything.
