“Smoldering Depths” is the third cut pulled from Portrait Of Our Descent, and it does exactly what the title promises. Slow burn. Heavy chest. That kind of weight that stays after the song ends.

"Smoldering Depths" est le troisième morceau tiré de Portrait Of Our Descent, et il fait exactement ce que le titre promet. Brûlure lente. Poitrine lourde. Ce genre de poids qui reste après la fin de la chanson.

Adeline Gray come from Italy, but this isn’t about geography. It’s about pressure. Groove metal with an alternative edge, thick riffs rubbing against restless rhythms. You hear Deftones in the atmosphere, Pantera in the punch, maybe a bit of Norma Jean chaos sneaking in when things get uncomfortable. Which is good. It should be uncomfortable.

Adeline Gray vient d’Italie, mais ce n’est pas une question de géographie. C’est à propos de pression. Du groove metal avec une touche alternative, des riffs épais qui frottent contre des rythmes agités. On entend les Deftones dans l’atmosphère, Pantera dans le coup, peut-être un peu du chaos de Norma Jean qui s’infiltre quand les choses deviennent inconfortables. Ce qui est bon. Ça devrait être inconfortable.

This EP feels written from the bottom looking up. Anger, doubt, that foggy headspace where everything feels stuck. Lyrics lean dark, sure, but there’s always this crack of light. Not cheesy hope. Real, earned hope. The kind you crawl back to. I like that. A lot.

Cet EP semble écrit du fond en regardant vers le haut. Colère, doute, cet espace mental brumeux où tout semble bloqué. Les paroles penchent vers le sombre, certes, mais il y a toujours cette fissure de lumière. Pas un espoir cliché. Un espoir réel, mérité. Le genre auquel on revient en rampant. J’aime ça. Beaucoup.

“Smoldering Depths” drags you under then lets you breathe again, barely. Guitars grind, the groove locks in, and there’s this tension… like holding your breath too long.

"Smoldering Depths" vous tire vers le bas puis vous laisse respirer à peine. Les guitares grincent, le groove s’enclenche, et il y a cette tension… comme retenir son souffle trop longtemps.
