Ears fried and fingers slipping on the keyboard. Whatever. Famous Strangers just pulled Deep Star out of the vault and yeah… I feel this one in the chest.

Oreilles grillées et doigts qui glissent sur le clavier. Peu importe. Famous Strangers vient de sortir Deep Star du coffre-fort et ouais… je le sens dans la poitrine.

Edmonton’s FAMOUS STRANGERS dropped the official video for “Deep Star”, their very first song ever written, first released back in 2024 and now reborn in 2026 with a full cinematic visual. Two years waiting. Two years. And it was worth it.

FAMOUS STRANGERS d’Edmonton ont sorti la vidéo officielle de "Deep Star", leur toute première chanson écrite, initialement publiée en 2024 et maintenant ressuscitée en 2026 avec un visuel cinématographique complet. Deux ans d’attente. Deux ans. Et ça valait le coup.

This track is alt-metal with a cosmic pulse. Heavy but emotional. Big riffs breathing space, vocals that hit both soft and sharp, like you’re floating and falling at the same time. Sabbath / Deep Purple tones sneaking in, but filtered through something modern, darker, more personal. Ok yeah that main riff sticks hard.

Ce morceau est de l’alt-metal avec un pouls cosmique. Lourd mais émotionnel. De gros riffs qui laissent de l’espace, des voix qui frappent à la fois douces et tranchantes, comme si vous flottiez et tombiez en même temps. Des tons de Sabbath / Deep Purple s’infiltrent, mais filtrés à travers quelque chose de moderne, plus sombre, plus personnel. Ok ouais, ce riff principal reste bien.

 

The story behind it? Surprisingly human. A song that started as a feeling for a friend, then exploded into this space-born savior myth. Healing, power, escape, hope: all tangled up. The video pushes that vibe even further, full sci-fi mood and shadow, not flashy, just immersive. You can tell time was poured into this. Real time. Not rushed.

L’histoire derrière ? Surprenante humaine. Une chanson qui a commencé comme un sentiment pour un ami, puis explosé en ce mythe de sauveur né dans l’espace. Guérison, pouvoir, évasion, espoir : tout est emmêlé. La vidéo pousse cette ambiance encore plus loin, ambiance et ombres de science-fiction, pas clinquant, juste immersif. On sent que du temps a été consacré à cela. Du vrai temps. Pas précipité.

And honestly, you can feel this is the spark that lit the whole band. The beginning of the universe they’re building now. Four singles deep already, festivals played, stages shared with killers… and still that hunger is there. I like that.

Et honnêtement, on sent que c’est l’étincelle qui a allumé tout le groupe. Le commencement de l’univers qu’ils construisent maintenant. Quatre singles déjà, festivals joués, scènes partagées avec des tueurs… et pourtant cette faim est toujours là. J’aime ça.

Also heads up: Famous Strangers opening for Danko Jones, Feb 6th at Sherwood Park Festival Place. That’s gonna slap. Hard.
