Ok Hellgrimm. Power trio, Texas, formed 2018, and honestly the backstory on this album alone is enough to make you respect it before you even press play. "Resurrection" dropped February 13th and the title isn't just a name. Nearly three years to get this thing out. Technical disasters, lost files, multiple studios, lineup changes, sickness. Death. Yeah. Joshua Pechawer is in the credits with an RIP and that says everything about what this record cost them. You feel that weight in the music.

Power trio du Texas formé en 2018, et franchement l’histoire de cet album suffit à le respecter avant même d’appuyer play. « Resurrection » est sorti le 13 février et le titre c’est pas juste un nom. Presque trois ans pour le sortir. Catastrophes techniques, fichiers perdus, multiples studios, changements de line-up, maladie. Mort. Ouais. Joshua Pechawer est crédité avec un RIP et ça dit tout sur le prix payé. Tu sens ce poids dans la musique.

It's hard rock with heavy metal bones: dark subject matter, addictions, demons, destruction, but there's melody in there, real melody, haunting solos and Erica Missey's voice cutting through like a warning signal. Jerry Connor writes the riffs and they land. 11 tracks plus a Kreator cover ("Outcast") and a Rolling Stones cover that I wasn't expecting but ok, why not. "Dog Trash Must Die" was the first single back in December and it's a movie theme song which is a sentence I enjoy typing.

C’est du hard rock avec des os heavy metal : thèmes sombres, addictions, démons, destruction, mais y a de la vraie mélodie, des solos hantés et la voix d’Erica Missey qui tranche comme un signal d’alerte. Jerry Connor écrit les riffs et ils tombent juste. 11 titres plus une cover Kreator (« Outcast ») et une des Rolling Stones que j’attendais pas mais ok, pourquoi pas. « Dog Trash Must Die » était le premier single en décembre et c’est une chanson de film, phrase que j’adore taper.

The band's about to hit Spain supporting NWOBHM legends Satan on a four-date run starting Feb 19. Supporting Satan. In Spain. These guys don't sit still. The roster of bands they've shared stages with is genuinely insane: Raven, Goatwhore, Max Cavalera, Geoff Tate, Christian Death... they've been putting in the work for years, quietly. This one feels earned. Go listen.

Le groupe va en Espagne en support des légendes NWOBHM Satan pour quatre dates à partir du 19 février. Supporter Satan. En Espagne. Ces gars bougent pas. Le CV des groupes avec qui ils ont partagé la scène est dingue : Raven, Goatwhore, Max Cavalera, Geoff Tate, Christian Death… Ils bossent depuis des années, en silence. Celui-là sent le gagné. Va écouter.
