Virgin Prozac in my ears and yeah… this one’s not here to be nice. Belgian trio, active since 2017, and they play like there’s no tomorrow and no safety net. Heavy rock, raw as hell, wired straight to the 90s but bleeding now.

Virgin Prozac dans mes oreilles et ouais… celui-ci n’est pas là pour être gentil. Trio belge, actif depuis 2017, et ils jouent comme s’il n’y avait pas de lendemain ni de filet de sécurité. Du heavy rock, brut comme l’enfer, câblé directement dans les années 90 mais en train de saigner maintenant.

After two EPs they finally dropped a real album. Sinecure. And it feels like a line in the sand. No polish, no fake shine, just instinct and pressure. You hear the grunge urgency, the hard rock punch, the punk attitude, all mashed together and pushed until something cracks.

Après deux EP, ils viennent enfin de sortir un vrai album. Sinecure. Et ça ressemble à une ligne dans le sable. Pas de polissage, pas de fausse brillance, juste de l’instinct et de la pression. On entend l’urgence grunge, le coup de poing hard rock, l’attitude punk, le tout mélangé et poussé jusqu’à ce que quelque chose casse.

They say it themselves: anger, rage, sadness, madness. Life, basically. And yeah, you can hear that. These songs don’t try to explain anything, they just hit. Written slowly, painfully even, built riff by riff, then smashed into shape as a trio that finally feels right. You can tell this lineup is locked in.

Ils le disent eux-mêmes : colère, rage, tristesse, folie. La vie, en gros. Et ouais, on l’entend. Ces chansons ne cherchent pas à expliquer quoi que ce soit, elles frappent juste. Écrites lentement, douloureusement même, construites riff par riff, puis écrasées en forme par un trio qui finalement semble juste. On sent que cette formation est verrouillée.

“Magic Powder” was the first taste and it makes sense now: weird vibe, slightly unhinged, straight face violence. The rest of the album stays in that zone. Tense. Loud. Honest. Played at full instinct, full volume. On stage or on record, same rule: energy first.

"Magic Powder" était la première gorgée et ça commence à faire sens maintenant : ambiance bizarre, légèrement détraqué, violence frontale. Le reste de l’album reste dans cette zone. Tendu. Fort. Honnête. Joué à l’instinct maximum, volume maximum. Sur scène ou enregistré, même règle : l’énergie d’abord.

Not reinventing heavy rock, no. But stripping it back to the nerve.

Ne réinvente pas le heavy rock, non. Mais le ramène à l’os.

Bref, this one sticks. And it leaves a mark.

Bref, celui-ci reste. Et il laisse une trace.
