I've had "Rest If Needed" on repeat and, honestly, I've ended up with a bit of a headache, but the good kind. Magnadur isn't exactly doing things by halves here; it's massive, dripping with epic melodies, and you can tell they spent an eternity on the production over at Metal Madness.

J'ai écouté « Rest If Needed » en boucle et, honnêtement, j'ai fini avec un mal de tête, mais du bon genre. Magnadur ne fait pas les choses à moitié ici ; c'est massif, dégoulinant de mélodies épiques, et on sent qu'ils ont passé une éternité sur la production chez Metal Madness.

The title is actually pretty spot on, because after four minutes of this ultra-dense Melodeath, you really do feel like you need a breather. What struck me, beyond the obvious nods to Dark Tranquillity or Amon Amarth, is this constant sense of escalation. It's like being caught in some giant mechanical gear: it's heavy, almost industrial in its precision at times, but incredibly well-constructed.

Le titre est plutôt bien choisi, car après quatre minutes de ce Melodeath ultra‑dense, on a vraiment l'impression d'avoir besoin de souffler. Ce qui m'a frappé, au‑delà des clins d'œil évidents à Dark Tranquillity ou Amon Amarth, c'est cette sensation constante d'escalade. On a l'impression d'être pris dans un engrenage géant : c'est lourd, presque industriel dans sa précision par moments, mais incroyablement bien construit.

Their album Bloodmoon over Niflheim drops this summer, and if the whole record is this intense, it's going to be a lot to digest during a heatwave. Either way, "Rest If Needed" sets up something ambitious, maybe a bit too "clean" for the garage-band purists, but it's undeniably effective if you like your sound to have some serious weight behind it.

Leur album Bloodmoon over Niflheim sort cet été, et si tout le disque est aussi intense, ça va être difficile à digérer pendant une vague de chaleur. Quoi qu'il en soit, « Rest If Needed » annonce quelque chose d'ambitieux, peut‑être un peu trop « propre » pour les puristes du garage, mais indéniablement efficace si vous aimez un son qui a du poids.
