It's 3:45 PM on a Friday, and I've just spent the last twenty minutes in a total trance. I went into this expecting a standard rock track, but Repetita Iuvant just reminded me why I love Post-Rock so much. There's no singing, no "star" frontman, just a trio of Italian musicians letting their instruments do all the talking.

Il est 15h45 un vendredi, et je viens de passer vingt minutes en transe totale. Je m'attendais à un morceau rock standard, mais Repetita Iuvant vient de me rappeler pourquoi j'aime tant le Post-Rock. Pas de chant, pas de "leader" star, juste un trio de musiciens italiens qui laissent leurs instruments parler.

I'll be honest: sometimes 100% instrumental albums can feel a bit like homework if the songwriting isn't there. But with 3+2 (out soon on Argonauta Records), Cristoforo, Daniele, and Andrea have built something that feels alive. It's built on repetition, hence the name, but it's never boring. It's more like watching a storm roll in; you see the clouds gathering, the wind picks up, and before you know it, the sound has completely filled the room.

Je vais être honnête : parfois les albums 100% instrumentaux peuvent ressembler à des devoirs si l'écriture n'est pas au rendez-vous. Mais avec 3+2 (bientôt chez Argonauta Records), Cristoforo, Daniele et Andrea ont construit quelque chose de vivant. C'est basé sur la répétition, d'où le nom, mais ce n'est jamais ennuyeux. C'est plutôt comme regarder un orage arriver ; tu vois les nuages s'amonceler, le vent se lève, et avant que tu ne t'en rendes compte, le son a complètement envahi la pièce.

At first, I found myself waiting for a vocal cue, but then the guitars started layering with these subtle synth textures, and I realized a voice would probably just get in the way. It's got that cinematic, heavy atmosphere that fans of Caspian or Russian Circles live for. It's very disciplined, no flashy solos for the sake of it, just evolving patterns that grow and fracture.

Au début, je me suis surpris à attendre une entrée vocale, mais là les guitares ont commencé à se superposer avec ces textures synthétiques subtiles, et j'ai réalisé qu'une voix ne ferait probablement que gêner. Il a cette atmosphère cinématographique et lourde que les fans de Caspian ou Russian Circles recherchent. C'est très discipliné, pas de solos tape-à-l'œil gratuits, juste des motifs qui évoluent, grandissent et se fracturent.

I did have a moment halfway through where I wondered if the repetition might go on a bit too long, but then the drums shifted, the intensity ramped up, and I was right back in it. It's definitely a "headphones on, eyes closed" kind of experience. J'ai eu un moment à la moitié où je me suis demandé si la répétition ne s'éternisait pas un peu, mais là la batterie a changé, l'intensité a grimpé, et j'étais de nouveau dedans. C'est clairement une expérience "casque sur les oreilles, yeux fermés".

If you're into the experimental side of Post-Rock where the music is the entire narrative, this is one to watch. Argonauta is even doing a limited deluxe colored vinyl for it, which honestly makes sense: this is the kind of music that belongs on a turntable while you just sit there and let the walls disappear.
