MODERN METAL / METALCORE HONGROIS AVEC UNE ÉNERGIE BRUTE

To be honest, modern metal usually ends up sounding like it's coming off an assembly line, but Senki just gave me a serious wake-up call. What started as Ákos Rikter's solo project back in 2018 finally hit full-band status last year, and you can hear the difference immediately. Their debut EP, Szilánkok, has this nervous, jagged energy that feels like it could fly apart at any second.

Pour être honnête, le metal moderne sonne souvent comme s'il sortait d'une chaîne de montage, mais Senki vient de me réveiller sérieusement. Ce qui a commencé comme un projet solo d'Ákos Rikter en 2018 a enfin pris sa forme de groupe complet l'année dernière, et la différence s'entend immédiatement. Leur premier EP, Szilánkok, a cette énergie nerveuse et déchiquetée qui semble pouvoir voler en éclats à tout moment.

The new lyric video for "Mint csillag az égen" (which roughly translates to "Like a star in the sky") just dropped, and it's heavy as hell. It's metalcore, sure, but with a progressive urgency that actually grabs you by the throat. Ákos says this is the one place where he can truly be himself, and when you hear the vocals start to fray and saturate during the most tense parts, you believe him. There's no faking that.

La nouvelle vidéo avec paroles pour « Mint csillag az égen » (qui signifie à peu près « Comme une étoile dans le ciel ») vient de sortir, et c'est lourd comme jamais. C'est du metalcore, certes, mais avec une urgence progressive qui te saisit à la gorge. Ákos dit que c'est le seul endroit où il peut vraiment être lui‑même, et quand on entend la voix s'érailler et saturer dans les passages les plus tendus, on le croit. On ne peut pas inventer ça.

The EP title, Szilánkok, means "Shards" or "Splinters" in Hungarian, and that's exactly how these six tracks feel: like they're digging in. The band managed to trap that raw, slightly messy live energy in the recording, and with Olivér and Adrián joining the fold by 2025, the sound has taken on a massive, thick weight. They're already talking about a full-length album, and if it's anything like this, it's going to be a wrecking ball.

Le titre de l'EP, Szilánkok, signifie « éclats » ou « esquilles » en hongrois, et c'est exactement ce que ressentent ces six morceaux : ils s'enfoncent. Le groupe a réussi à capturer cette énergie live brute, un peu bordélique, dans l'enregistrement, et avec l'arrivée d'Olivér et Adrián en 2025, le son a pris une épaisseur massive. Ils parlent déjà d'un album complet, et si c'est comme ça, ça va être une boule de démolition.

Basically, if you want riffs that actually sweat and don't just fill space, give this a spin. En gros, si vous voulez des riffs qui transpirent vraiment et qui ne se contentent pas de remplir l'espace, jetez une oreille.
