Most bands put out a record hoping to get some airplay. Thunderor, on the other hand, decided to write the sequel to their own musical. We're talking about a concept album that follows a washed-up musician, a biker gang, and a local friar on a quest for glory in an alternate 1992. It's totally unhinged, it's bombastic, and honestly? It's damn well executed.
La plupart des groupes sortent un disque en espérant passer à la radio. Thunderor, quant à lui, a décidé d'écrire la suite de sa propre comédie musicale. On parle d'un album concept qui suit un musicien sur le retour, un gang de motards et un frère local en quête de gloire dans un 1992 alternatif. C'est complètement déjanté, c'est pompeux, et honnêtement ? C'est sacrément bien exécuté.
The engine of this machine is JJ Tartaglia. I still don't know how the guy handles lead vocals with that much conviction while hammering his drums like his life depends on it. Throw in Jonny Nesta's guitar work, which brings that essential "shred" factor to keep things from veering into a parody, and you've got a sound that blends Van Halen, The Darkness, and good old-fashioned heavy metal grit.
Le moteur de cette machine, c'est JJ Tartaglia. Je ne sais toujours pas comment le gars assure le chant principal avec autant de conviction tout en martelant sa batterie comme si sa vie en dépendait. Ajoutez le travail de guitare de Jonny Nesta, qui apporte ce facteur « shred » essentiel pour éviter de tomber dans la parodie, et vous obtenez un son qui mélange Van Halen, The Darkness et le grain du heavy metal traditionnel.
This is a record that refuses to be "cool" or "indie." It's 200% Arena Rock. The choruses are massive, the solos are there to prove they've got the chops, and the whole vibe is like a night out where you've had enough beers to start singing at the top of your lungs.

If you want to see if they can pull this off live, they're currently tearing up the road in Canada supporting Burning Witches. You can catch the chaos on April 20 at the Piranha Bar in Montreal, April 21 at La Source De La Martiniere in Quebec City, April 22 at the Rainbow Bistro in Ottawa, and April 23 at The Garrison in Toronto. If the live show is even half as intense as this album, it's going to be a wild ride.

At the end of the day, Bleed For It is pure escapism. No philosophical heavy lifting here, just a bunch of musicians having a blast and realizing you can be technically proficient without being a bore. It's refreshing to see guys lean into the theatrical side without ever losing the punch.
Au final, Bleed For It est de l'évasion pure. Pas de lourde charge philosophique ici, juste un groupe de musiciens qui s'éclatent et réalisent qu'on peut être techniquement compétent sans être ennuyeux. C'est rafraîchissant de voir des gars assumer le côté théâtral sans jamais perdre le punch.
