What really caught my ear is the intro featuring a Bulbul Tarang. It's an exotic string instrument that adds a dusty, Eastern flavor right before the heavy, modern prog kicks the door down. It's the perfect backdrop for a track that deals with the impossibility of "serving two masters" or trying to survive in two worlds at once.

The band members are veterans who've been playing together in various forms for thirty years, and you can hear that chemistry. They recorded this at the legendary Sunset Sound in LA, even though 70% of the album was written remotely between California and São Paulo. The addition of Ginny Luke on vocals and electric violin adds a massive, soulful layer that keeps the technical shredding from feeling like a cold math exercise.

If their debut was about showing off their instrumental muscles, their upcoming album Overwhelmed (dropping May 29th) seems to be betting on pure melodic hooks. It's got the complexity of Haken or Rush, but with choruses that actually stay stuck in your brain.
