What's New: Dying Hydra
WAIT, THEY DON'T HAVE A BASS PLAYER?
I actually spent five minutes looking at Dying Hydra's lineup trying to find the missing name. It's just Lars Pontoppidan and Patrick Fragtrup on guitars/vocals, and Tejs Kyhl on drums. That's it. No bass. Which is mental when you listen to Of Lowly Origin or Strange and Beautiful Things because the low-end distortion on those records absolutely rattles your ribs. Either they're using some serious studio witchcraft or those guitars are carrying way more weight than they should.
J'ai passé cinq minutes à regarder la formation de Dying Hydra pour trouver le nom manquant. Il n'y a que Lars Pontoppidan et Patrick Fragtrup aux guitares/chant, et Tejs Kyhl à la batterie. C'est tout. Pas de basse. C'est dingue quand on écoute Of Lowly Origin ou Strange and Beautiful Things parce que la distorsion grave de ces disques fait vibrer les côtes. Soit ils utilisent une sorcellerie studio sérieuse, soit ces guitares portent beaucoup plus de poids qu'elles ne le devraient.
Anyway, the Copenhagen trio just signed with Argonauta Records for whatever they're releasing next. The band put out this typical, super-polite statement about being "sincerely grateful" and wanting to grow, which is fine, but nobody listens to sludge or doom because they want politeness. They listen to it because they want to feel like they're being slowly crushed by a boulder.
Quoi qu'il en soit, le trio de Copenhague vient de signer avec Argonauta Records pour leur prochaine sortie. Le groupe a fait cette déclaration typique, super polie, sur le fait d'être « sincèrement reconnaissant » et de vouloir grandir, ce qui est bien, mais personne n'écoute du sludge ou du doom pour la politesse. On écoute ça pour avoir l'impression d'être lentement écrasé par un rocher.
They've been grinding in the Danish underground since 2018, playing festivals like Colossal Weekend and some tattoo convention called Blacksworks. If you've shared stages with Primitive Man, Bongripper, and Konvent, you aren't making music for the faint of heart. It's that heavy, ritualistic YOB, Neurosis, and Conan territory where everything feels suffocating and miserable.
Ils tournent dans l'underground danois depuis 2018, jouant dans des festivals comme Colossal Weekend et une convention de tatouage appelée Blacksworks. Si vous avez partagé la scène avec Primitive Man, Bongripper et Konvent, vous ne faites pas de musique pour les âmes sensibles. C'est ce territoire lourd et rituel de YOB, Neurosis et Conan où tout semble suffocant et misérable.
There are zero details on the new album yet—no titles, no release dates, nothing. Just a promise of "more soon." Keep an eye on their Bandcamp if you like your doom slow, abrasive, and completely devoid of a bass player.
Il n'y a encore aucun détail sur le nouvel album—pas de titres, pas de dates de sortie, rien. Juste la promesse de « plus bientôt ». Surveillez leur Bandcamp si vous aimez votre doom lent, abrasif et complètement dépourvu de bassiste.
