FORCE AGAINST THE END – OSAKA'S UNHINGED HEAVY METAL MOVEMENT
Japanese metal always does its own completely unhinged thing. Osaka's underground scene, in particular, is breeding some wild hybrids right now. Fireflame literally co-founded a movement called the "New Wave of Japanese Heavy Metal" (NWOJHM) alongside kitsunevi to shake up their local venues. Claiming a whole new historical wave for your own scene is incredibly arrogant. I absolutely love the attitude.
Le metal japonais fait toujours son truc complètement déjanté. La scène underground d'Osaka, en particulier, produit des hybrides sauvages en ce moment. Fireflame a littéralement cofondé un mouvement appelé « New Wave of Japanese Heavy Metal » (NWOJHM) avec kitsunevi pour secouer leurs salles locales. Revendiquer toute une nouvelle vague historique pour sa propre scène, c'est incroyablement arrogant. J'adore totalement cette attitude.
They've got a massive 15-track debut album called Force Against The End landing on July 31st through Wormholedeath. To warm things up, they pushed out a lyric video for "Something Is Wrong". You read a track description about mental unrest, cracked systems, and dystopian reality, and you brace yourself for some generic, over-produced metalcore whining. That doesn't happen here.

On lit une description parlant de troubles mentaux, de systèmes fissurés et de réalité dystopique, et on se prépare à une pleurnicherie metalcore générique et surproduite. The twin-guitar attack from FireRay and Fire.J, yes, almost everyone in the lineup has "Fire" in their stage name, you simply have to embrace the madness, sounds like classic traditional heavy metal smashed violently into modern melodic death metal. Mr. Big Fire handles the vocals, tearing through the track with genuine aggression. The rhythm section refuses to stay in one lane. Connie Flames on bass and Show .G. Flame on drums drag you through old-school headbanging tempos straight down into a suffocating, modern breakdown.
L'attaque à deux guitares de FireRay et Fire.J – oui, presque tout le monde dans la formation a « Fire » dans son nom de scène, il faut simplement accepter la folie – sonne comme du heavy metal traditionnel violemment percuté par du melodic death metal moderne. Mr. Big Fire s'occupe du chant, déchirant le morceau avec une agression authentique. La section rythmique refuse de rester dans une seule voie. Connie Flames à la basse et Show .G. Flame à la batterie vous font passer des tempos old-school de headbang à un breakdown moderne et suffocant.
Committing to a 15-song debut is a massive gamble in the current era of zero attention spans. These guys clearly have a huge chip on their shoulder and absolutely zero interest in playing it safe.
S'engager sur un premier album de 15 chansons est un pari massif dans l'ère actuelle des capacités d'attention zéro. Ces gars ont clairement un énorme complexe et absolument aucun intérêt à jouer la sécurité.
