GERMAN TRIO DELIVERS BLISTERING BLACKENED DEATH METAL WITH CRUST PUNK FURY
Hearing a band pull off this level of crushing weight with just a single guitar setup is impressive, but I actually forgot there were only three guys in the room until the track ended. On "Frozen Dystopia," German trio GREH dump their earlier doom tempo entirely, choosing instead to hit you with a fast, relentless wave of blackened death metal and crust.
Entendre un groupe atteindre ce niveau de poids écrasant avec une seule guitare est impressionnant, mais j'ai en fait oublié qu'ils n'étaient que trois dans la pièce jusqu'à la fin du morceau. Sur « Frozen Dystopia », le trio allemand GREH abandonne complètement son tempo doom antérieur, choisissant plutôt de vous frapper avec une vague rapide et implacable de blackened death metal et de crust.

About halfway through, those icy, atmospheric drones started standing out more than the riffs themselves. What keeps the track from just being five minutes of pure noise is how those cold textures creep underneath the assault. Maurice Müller's drum work drives a punishing, chaotic pace, while Martin Kocula's vocals sound genuinely unhinged, like someone losing their mind as everything around them falls apart. Gjero Krsteski's single guitar somehow fills every corner of the mix without ever feeling thin or lacking a second channel. It's dense, dissonant, and completely overwhelming.
Environ à la moitié, ces drones atmosphériques glacés ont commencé à se démarquer plus que les riffs eux‑mêmes. I wasn't expecting them to lean this hard into pure, blistering speed, but it works. If this is where GREH are taking things for their next record, it's going to be a brutal ride.
Je ne m'attendais pas à ce qu'ils s'engagent aussi fortement dans une vitesse pure et fulgurante, mais ça fonctionne. Si c'est la direction que GREH prend pour leur prochain album, ça va être un voyage brutal.
