What's New: Horresque - "Behind the Door"
GERMAN BLACKENED DEATH METALLERS UNLEASH THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THEIR CHASMS TRILOGY
It wasn't until about halfway through "Behind the Door" that I remembered this single is supposed to set up the final chapter of Horresque's Chasms trilogy. Honestly, while listening, you don't even need the grand concept in mind to get hit by what these German blackened death metallers are doing here.
Ce n'est qu'à la moitié de « Behind the Door » que je me suis souvenu que ce single est censé préparer le dernier chapitre de la trilogie Chasms de Horresque. Honnêtement, en écoutant, on n'a même pas besoin du grand concept en tête pour être frappé par ce que ces blackened death metalers allemands font ici.

The track kicks off with a cold, sinister momentum that immediately brought to mind bands like Regarde Les Hommes Tomber or Misþyrming. But what really stands out as the song unfolds is how they balance that raw black metal blast with sharp, melodic death metal hooks. It feels aggressive and oppressive, yet the guitar lines have this dark melody running underneath that sticks with you after the track ends.
Le morceau démarre avec un élan froid et sinistre qui m'a immédiatement évoqué des groupes comme Regarde Les Hommes Tomber ou Misþyrming. Mais ce qui ressort vraiment au fil de la chanson, c'est la façon dont ils équilibrent ce blast black metal brut avec des hooks death metal mélodiques tranchants. C'est agressif et oppressant, mais les lignes de guitare ont cette mélodie sombre qui court en dessous et qui reste avec vous après la fin du morceau.
You can hear that this isn't a young band still figuring out how to balance intensity and atmosphere. The production gives the riffs plenty of weight while still leaving enough grit in the vocals. "Behind the Door" also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Horresque, as Chasms Pt. III - The Dread, Unveiled will be the band's first independent release, without the backing of a record label.
On entend que ce n'est pas un jeune groupe qui cherche encore à équilibrer intensité et atmosphère. La production donne aux riffs beaucoup de poids tout en laissant assez de grain dans les voix. « Behind the Door » marque également le début d'un nouveau chapitre pour Horresque, puisque Chasms Pt. III - The Dread, Unveiled sera la première sortie indépendante du groupe, sans le soutien d'un label.
