The Leipzig‑based outfit recently streamlined into a trio, and that shift seems to have pushed their sound into something even more direct and stripped‑down. There's zero fluff here. From the opening moments, Stephen Lyons' Irish vocals carry this raw, cathartic grit that contrasts sharply with the heavy, driving post‑hardcore instrumentals underneath.

What works so well on "Crater" is the sheer momentum. Rather than leaning too far into dreamy atmospheric breaks, the track maintains an unrelenting, visceral pace. The rhythm section, Morris Duff on bass and Oliver Russ on drums, keeps the wall of sound incredibly tight, giving the song a heavy, physical punch without losing its emotional weight. It feels less like a polished studio creation and more like three guys in a room locking in and letting out pure, unrefined energy. If this is where Wisent are taking their sound next, it bodes very well for their upcoming material and live shows.
