Review: Sagittarius - "Voice of Myst" (Single)
HEAVY METAL OUTFIT DROPS A DARK, PROGRESSIVE SECOND SINGLE AHEAD OF THEIR DEBUT FULL‑LENGTH
Heavy metal outfit Sagittarius have released "Voice of Myst," the second single taken from their upcoming debut full‑length Abomination of Mind, set for release on October 9th via Wormholedeath. Following up on their 2022 EP Collapse, the track marks another step in the band's push toward a darker, more progressive style of heavy metal. It's always a gamble when a heavy metal track promises both progressive structures and raw power, but Sagittarius make it work. I was expecting the progressive elements to drag down the pace, but the song moves cleanly between its slower, atmospheric sections and heavier passages. You can hear a twin‑guitar lead structure underneath that traces back to traditional heavy metal, yet the modern production gives it enough weight to keep it from feeling like a dry nostalgia exercise. It's a solid track, and if the rest of the record holds this balance, their debut won't just be another generic prog‑metal release.
