THY SANATORIUM - "I Monster"

Track & Video Spotlight: THY SANATORIUM - "I Monster"

A SOLID, DARK TRACK THAT GIVES THEIR DEBUT A WELL‑DESERVED SECOND WIND

Back in April 2026, London‑based collective Thy Sanatorium put out their self‑titled debut album. Now they're giving one of its key cuts, "I Monster," a fresh push with a new music video that just dropped on October 2nd. I'm usually skeptical when a band slaps the "horror black metal" tag on their music; it often ends up sounding like a cheesy Halloween soundtrack. But "I Monster" actually lands pretty well. The symphonic layers give it a heavy, theatrical backdrop, but the real driver here is the riffing. It's fast and aggressive, keeping the track anchored while Ra's vocals deliver a harsh, bitter performance.

Mais « I Monster » fonctionne plutôt bien.

"I Monster" (Official Video)

If I'm being honest, it doesn't reinvent the wheel. You've definitely heard this kind of atmospheric tension before if you listen to Dimmu Borgir or Carach Angren, and it plays heavily on familiar genre tropes. Still, the chorus hook is strong, the video fits the bleak concept of internal decay, and the mix lets the guitars cut right through the keyboards instead of getting buried in orchestrations. It's a solid, dark track that gives their debut a well‑deserved second wind, especially if it flew under your radar earlier this year.
