Allochiria - We Have Nothing

What's New:

Greek post-sludge metallers Allochiria have just released their highly anticipated third album, "Commotion," via Venerate Industries on April 23rd, 2023. Known for their genre-bending sound, Allochiria delivers a mesmerizing mix of post-sludge, prog-sludge, post-black metal, and post-metal that showcases their diverse musical influences.

"Commotion" was created and recorded during the COVID-19 lockdowns while the band members lived in different countries of Europe. The album thematically explores humanity's existence, loneliness, the suffocation caused by our repeating routines, resisting change, wars, and crimes against humanity. However, it also offers a glimpse of hope with thoughts of resistance and freedom.

The album features nine tracks that showcase the band's musical diversity and emotional intensity. "We Have Nothing" kicks off the album with a slow-burning build-up that explodes into a groovy post-sludge riff. "9" and "Still Life" showcase the band's prog-sludge influences with their intricate arrangements and dynamic shifts. "Shedding Character" features haunting melodies and ethereal vocals, while "Ocean" delivers a crushing wall of sound that blends post-black metal and post-metal elements. The album's interlude provides a brief moment of respite before "Casualties" and "Turning Point" hit hard with their driving rhythms and intense vocals. The album closes with "Darklight" a haunting track that features atmospheric soundscapes and otherworldly screams.

"Commotion" was produced, recorded, and mixed by Jacopo Fokas at Villa Giuseppe and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The album's production is top-notch, with every instrument and vocal part fitting seamlessly together to create a cohesive and immersive listening experience.
Allochiria's line-up features John K. and Stavros K. on guitars, Ted P. on bass, Eirini P. on vocals, and Stef K. on drums. Their collective musicianship is impressive, with each member bringing their unique style and flair to the album.

With "Commotion," Allochiria solidifies their position as one of the most exciting and innovative bands in the post-sludge genre. Fans of Cult of Luna, Amenra, Gojira, and Russian Circles will be thrilled with this album. "Commotion" is available in digital, CD, and LP formats. Fans can follow Allochiria on their website, Bandcamp, Facebook, Youtube, Spotify, Instagram, and Soundcloud for updates on their latest releases and upcoming shows.
