Today, On April 14, South African heavy metal icons Deadline released the fourth single and accompanying video, "Vitriol," from their highly anticipated third album, "Vitriol Inc," which is slated for release on May 5. As pioneers of the New Wave of South African Heavy Metal, Deadline's music pays homage to the likes of 80s Thrash Metal, Power Metal, Heavy Metal, and Sleaze Rock. According to frontman Jessy Switchblade, "Vitriol" is the only song on the album that follows the Deadline/Lady Blitzkrieg/San Lombardo story, and is a metaphor for power and elitism, centering around the corrupt Judge Mental who runs Vitriol Inc, a weapons and armaments corporation in San Lombardo. The song is a full-throttle thrasher with a melodic chorus and a beautiful movie noir interlude, inspired by Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and perfectly suited to the band's new sound and direction. It will be the final single before the album's release.

Deadline, a South African heavy metal band, has a passion for the 80s era of music, expressed through their band name taken from a Testament song and their battle jackets emblazoned with the names of their favorite bands. The band formed in Pretoria in 2014 and has become the fore runners of the "New Wave of South African Heavy Metal," with six South African Metal Music Awards to their name. Their upcoming third album, "Vitriol Inc," promises to be their most daring release yet. Led by the effervescent Frontman Jessy Switchblade, the quintet brings the nostalgia, exuberance, and bloodthirsty passion of the 80s without limiting themselves to a single genre. Their music transcends genres and generations, paying homage to the decade that changed us forever. With a solidified line-up of guitarists Judge Mental and The Skullprit, bassist Damian Dread, and percussionist and backup vocalist Wrighteous Mike, Deadline is ready to take their energetic, passionate live show to the next level.
