Lethal Technology is a Swiss metal band that draws inspiration from a variety of metal genres including industrial, death, and progressive metal. They strive to avoid being pigeonholed into one specific genre and prefer to explore the vast possibilities that metal has to offer.
The band was founded in Collombey, Valais in March 2011 by guitarist Cedric Ferret, originally under the name Seventh Wave. After releasing their first EP, Programmed World, in May 2012 and opening for bands such as Dagoba, the band eventually split in April 2017. However, Ferret and bassist Julien Dulex reunited in July of the same year to continue the band's journey, now under the name Lethal Technology. Throaty and lyrical vocals are provided respectively by Jade Hänni and Sofiane Thoulon, and the band enlisted the help of Misanthrope's solo guitarist, Xavier Boscher, to contribute solos and rhythms to their debut album.
Mechanical Era, the band's first album, was released on September 24th, 2022 in digital form and was available on physical CDs on November 25th, 2022. The album takes the listener on a sonic journey to a futuristic and post-apocalyptic world where the coexistence between humans and machines is strained and relationships between humans are complicated. The album blends the sounds of synths and guitar riffs, guttural and lyrical vocals, and atmospheric and brutal elements.
Fans of Fear Factory, Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, Cannibal Corpse, and Symphony X are sure to appreciate Lethal Technology's unique blend of metal styles.
