Midjungards is a metal band that draws inspiration from the ancient Goths, their magical world, and their heroic legacy. The band was born on November 6th, 2006, after the band Hell-Train disappeared and Toni, the lead vocalist, began composing music for the new band. Midjungards is composed of members Toni, Nanda, Panollo, Pascual, Israel Real, Tatu Ruotsalainen, and Timmo Salakka.
For different reasons, the band did not play its first show until October 2011, with the name Viriato in the pub Darkness of Sedavi (Spain). After this concert, the band disappeared for family reasons, but most of the material of From Scandza was composed and recorded with low quality during this period.
During the years 2021-2022, the project that had been incubated for many years had a drastic boost. With the help of Paco Muñoz, the ex-drummer of Parking Fox, on the drums, Toni went to Finnvox studios to record the first album of Midjungards: "From Scandza." The album was produced by Midjungards, recorded by Francisco Muñoz and Leevi Kohonen, mixed by Leevi Kohonen, and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios.
The album tracklisting includes 10 songs that take us on a journey from the origin of the ancient Goths until their last legendary battles and legacy. The album starts with an intro and then moves on to songs like "Hordes Of Hate," "Dark Streets," and "Still Here," which showcase the band's metal energy and powerful vocals. The album also features songs like "From Scandza To Covadonga" and "Entering The History," which delve deep into the history of the Goths, while "Sons Of Gaut" and "Fire Storm" highlight the bravery and courage of the ancient Goths.
The design cover of the album has been realized by "Madness" Obed Pérez, who has done a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the ancient Goths and the band's metal energy. From the introduction until the last song, this album is a heartfelt expression of the band's deep connection to the ancient Goths and their legacy.
