After Evolution - "War Of The Worlds"

Imagine epic orchestral sounds colliding with the raw power of metal. That’s what After Evolution is all about. Inspired by the likes of Hans Zimmer, Two Steps from Hell, and Audiomachine, their music is a grand symphony, intertwining orchestras and metal elements just like Evanescence, Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica. But guess what? They take it up a notch, creating what they call “epic orchestral metal”. Every instrument, from guitars and drums to vocals, is built on a symphonic base. Pretty rad, huh?

So, what’s the deal with the name After Evolution? Funny story—people kept asking, “What’s After Evolution mean?” and it got the band thinking. Ever heard anyone ask Nightwish that? Nope! So, they decided to give it a meaning. They dreamed up an entire fantasy story, connecting it to their music. Yep, heads in the clouds, dreaming up epic tales. Why not, right? They crafted a storyboard, linking the narrative with their tunes.

In just two weeks, the story was born. The next step? Music. They split the story into 11 parts, each becoming a track on the album.

They’d pause at each section, immersing themselves in the character's feelings, the setting, and the unfolding events. They’d vibe with the story to match the music perfectly. Orchestras first, then melodies for vocals, guitars, and drums. Once the music took shape, they’d revisit their notes, penning lyrics. Contrasts, poetic riddles, vivid imagery like “red roses falling on the cold white snow” (hint: that’s blood on the ground). Some lyrics are straightforward, others poetic—it all depends on the song's mood. That's their secret sauce!
