To be honest, we almost wrote Embrace Of Souls off as "just another" Italian symphonic project. We were wrong. With "The Battle Of The Dead," Michele Olmi's crew isn't just checking boxes; they're throwing us into a medieval fresco that reeks of death and dust.

Pour être honnête, nous avons presque classé Embrace Of Souls comme « un énième » projet symphonique italien. Nous avions tort. Avec « The Battle Of The Dead », l'équipe de Michele Olmi ne se contente pas de cocher des cases ; elle nous plonge dans une fresque médiévale qui sent la mort et la poussière.

Forget grand orchestrations just for show. Here, the storytelling actually hits you in the gut. It's a tale of a plague devouring souls, and you can feel the weight of it. What really stopped us in our tracks was the vocal face-off between Giacomo Rossi and Martina Mazzeo. This isn't your typical "beauty and the beast" duo; it's a genuine collision between metal rage and a nearly chilling operatic purity. It felt like watching a macabre play where every keyboard note from Davide Baldelli weighs a ton.

Oubliez les grandes orchestrations juste pour le spectacle. Ici, la narration vous frappe en plein ventre. C'est l'histoire d'une peste qui dévore les âmes, et on en ressent le poids. Ce qui nous a vraiment arrêtés, c'est l'affrontement vocal entre Giacomo Rossi et Martina Mazzeo. Ce n'est pas le duo typique « beauté et la bête » ; c'est une véritable collision entre la rage metal et une pureté lyrique presque glaçante. On avait l'impression d'assister à une pièce macabre où chaque note de clavier de Davide Baldelli pèse une tonne.

If you're looking for something light for your morning jog, keep moving. This is dense, dark, and demands that you get lost in their world for all 11 tracks of the album. We're a long way from the usual "happy-go-lucky" Power Metal; there's a real darkness here that left us floored.

Si vous cherchez quelque chose de léger pour votre jogging matinal, passez votre chemin. C'est dense, sombre et exige que vous vous perdiez dans leur monde pendant les 11 titres de l'album. On est loin du Power Metal « à la cool » habituel ; il y a ici une obscurité réelle qui nous a sidérés.
