Discover: Yesterday's Hero
Back in November, Ohio's alternative metal warriors, Yesterday's Hero, unleashed their debut album, Ways To Hate, onto the world. If you haven't caught it yet, their latest music video for the title track is out, and trust me, it’s a headbanger’s paradise. Picture this: politics, religion, social media—all the things that make you wanna scream, captured in one intense visual experience. They didn’t pull any punches here.

Ways To Hate is Yesterday’s Hero's first full-length album, featuring seven hard-hitting tracks that take listeners on a rollercoaster ride through the messy emotions of a broken heart at the end of a stormy relationship. It’s like they bottled the pain and rage, and let it explode in your ears with heavy grooves and melodies that stick with you. If you’re not moshing by the second track, are you even alive?
In an era where singles rule the charts, Yesterday’s Hero went old-school. They wanted fans to sit back, listen, and take it all in—just like the good ol’ days. They carefully crafted the tracklist to give listeners a full-album experience. No random shuffle here. Just a story told from start to finish.
“We stick to raw, gritty tube amps—no fancy plugins or backing tracks. There’s no need for a laptop; we’re all about that live, unfiltered sound. What you hear on the record, you’ll hear on stage, note for note,” the band says. “Our goal? Catchy riffs, relatable lyrics, and a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh".
These guys have shared the stage with big names like Escape the Fate, Powerman5000, The Convalescence, and Gemini Syndrome. If you're into bands like Chevelle, Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, Godsmack, and Seether, Yesterday’s Hero should be on your radar.
Released on November 24, 2023, Ways To Hate is streaming on all major platforms. Grab it here or check out their Bandcamp for a physical copy.

More Info:
In my humble opinion, Ways To Hate hits all the right notes. It’s like a mix of early 2000s alt-metal and modern rock, with a punch that leaves you wanting more. Seven tracks might seem short, but every minute is packed with energy. I’m calling it now—Yesterday’s Hero is a band to watch.
